About ATW Seattle
ATW Seattle Chapter is a founding ATW chapter, formed in October 2002 by an enthusiastic group of professional women representing a broad spectrum of experience. Our all-volunteer board of directors shares a common interest in empowering women in technology and encouraging women and girls to enter technology fields.
Our active local leadership, supported by sponsors, members and other volunteers, works closely with ATW national headquarters as well as other organizations to offer events and programs to further this important initiative.
We host regular public events at which you can network with other professionals in the industry, listen to a presentation on technology trends or professional development or participate in a workshop, as well as learn about the other programs and activities offered by the chapter.
Chapter Programs
ATW supports women and men worldwide who share the common interests of empowering women in technology, increasing the number of women in executive roles and encouraging women and girls to enter technology fields. The Seattle chapter offers the following programs to help support our mission:
Events
Seattle’s regional chapter is a founding member of ATW. Our inaugural year kicked off with a high-energy, standing room only meeting in October followed by a lively calendar of activities providing lectures, workshops and speaker/networking events.
Seattle ATW Chapter events typically alternate between casual networking events and events featuring a speaker or workshop. These events provide an opportunity to meet new people and expanding your contacts throughout the industry as well as to learn and grow both personally and professionally. Location and costs for meetings vary.

GREAT MINDS™
Why are the percentages of women in the
technology fields decreasing? Do you want to
help turn this trend around? Studies show
that positive contact with technology
professionals during middle school helps
keep girls interested in technology. The
Seattle ATW Chapter is partnering with the TechREACH program at the Puget Sound
Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology
(PSC) to form a mentoring program for middle
school girls. This partnership is a win-win
solution! TechREACH brings access to
schools, students, and teachers. ATW members
contribute as mentors for the middle school
girls, or can volunteer in other ways, such
as speaking at the schools, or providing a
tour of their workplace.
Professional Mentor Program
The Seattle Chapter’s Professional
mentoring program is now in their second
year. Read more about the results from
our first year in our
Year One Summary.
