GREAT MINDS™ YOUTH

The GREAT MINDS™ program bridges the gap between industry and schools by establishing community programs and groups focused on facilitating exposure to opportunities in technology, thus making an impact on participants prior to college/post-secondary education.

Mission

Create localized networks of Science, Engineering, Math and Technology Practitioners committed to introducing and guiding young women to a fascination in careers that utilize Technology skills, resulting in a higher percentage of young women and girls interested in pursuing careers in these fields.

Focus

Utilizing portions of the Advocates for Women in Science, Engineering and Math (AWSEM) curriculum, we:

  • Launch AWSEM clubs for girls in middle and high schools
  • Develop local network of Industry professionals committed to mentoring girls
  • Initiate participating Company Site Visits
  • Build collaborative relationships with other groups focused on like goals

Get Involved

Technical professionals, business professionals, educators, parents, high school and college students are needed in the following volunteers roles:

  • School club leaders
  • Mentors
  • One-time event volunteers
  • Program development leaders
  • Site visit hosts and speakers
